Grading Issue 1 -- Everyone fails a test/quiz because they didn't study
Problem: You can't just curve it and give them a good grade when they didn't demonstrate they knew the material; however, you probably don't want to fail your entire class.
Solution: Earning a curve! Hand back the assessment with two grades on it. One that is the grade they earned without the curve, and one is their grade with the curve. If they would like the curved grade, they need to do complete test corrections! That way, they have to show the knowledge, and they realize that there were consequences to not studying (even if everyone didn't study).
